NanoKnife Prostate Proctorship
The NanoKnife Prostate Proctorship is a comprehensive, one-on-one training program designed to support physicians as they perform their initial NanoKnife procedures. This proctorship, offered by AngioDynamics, pairs the trainee physician with an expert physician trainer to ensure a successful and confidence-building experience.
During the proctorship, the trainer observes the trainee physician perform their first set of NanoKnife cases at their institution. While the trainer does not scrub into the procedures, they provide invaluable guidance and share best practices throughout the day. This includes pre-procedure imaging review, case planning, patient positioning advice, and step-by-step procedural guidance.
To ensure a thorough and effective learning experience, the following prerequisites and scheduling requirements must be met:
- A minimum of 45 days’ notice is required to schedule the proctorship.
- At least two cases should be scheduled on the proctorship day.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the NanoKnife Prostate Proctorship, the trainee physician will be able to:
- Identify appropriate patients for NanoKnife procedures and create effective procedural plans based on imaging studies and patient-specific factors.
- Employ best practices for positioning to facilitate precise and efficient procedures.
- Execute the NanoKnife procedure from start to finish, incorporating guidance and best practices from the expert trainer.
- Utilize imaging for pre-procedure planning, intra-procedural guidance, and post-procedure evaluation.
- Implement expert-recommended techniques and strategies to enhance procedural outcomes and patient safety.
This proctorship ensures that physicians are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to independently perform NanoKnife prostate procedures and deliver optimal patient care.
